Back to the Beginning

Apparently these socks are just not going to happen. First, I cast on 72 sts, the correct size, but I did not like the pooling.

So I tried it on, pinched the sock down to 64 sts (the next size down), found that 64 sts would work around my ankle, and restarted the sock. I'm LOVING the spiraling, the fabric, and pretty much everything about this sock, except one small detail.

64 sts might fit around my ankle, but the sock can't get around my stupidly-shaped instep. Bah. I have no idea what will become of this yarn, but it won't be socks!

"Progress"

I took my in-progress sock to the Hunger Games last night and knit during roughly half of it.

Today I'm fixing my "progress". Splitty yarn did not make for great in-the-dark knitting! Since it was the gusset, I'm still ahead, but I will more carefully consider theater knitting in the future.

Leftover Halloween Candy Brownies

Busy is good, right?

I made some brownies and tossed some of the leftover Halloween candy in them for a game night a few weeks ago.

There's Twix, Butterfinger, Snickers, and Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses. I liked the Twix, and would not recommend the Kisses. The Snickers melted away in an interesting manner, but were still good.

Getting Better

Almost a mile down, and the lowest it's been in over three years! If I can just finish a couple of my larger WIPs by the end of the year, I might have a new low!
